Raleigh Studios Hollywood, an eleven-acre complex of twelve state-of-the-art sound stages, production facilities, parking structures, support space and a host of production services, is the premiere independent production facility in the US. Originally opened as Famous Players Fiction Studios in 1915 with a Mary Pickford production, it is the longest continuously operating studio in the country. Following Raleigh's acquisition in 1979, the Studio underwent a $40 million dollar expansion and renovation, virtually reinventing soundstage design in the process. Additional expansions to this heavily subscribed complex are in the planning stages.
Raleigh Studios' team manages approximately 1.5 million sq ft of production space in Los Angeles and is now the largest operator of independent film studio facilities in North America. Since 1998, Raleigh operated managed Raleigh Studios Manhattan Beach with its 14 sound stages on 22 acres with nearly 600,000 square feet of office, stage and support space on 22 acres for its various owners. In 2006 Raleigh Studios assumed the management for Playa Vista Studios, which has some of the largest soundstages in the country and enjoys a prime West LA location.
Offering the production community full service studio facilities in geographically diverse destinations is the strategic growth model for Raleigh Studios, which continues to consult and expand across the globe. In 2007, Raleigh added Raleigh Studios Baton Rouge and Raleigh Studios Budapest to its portfolio and most recently oversaw the development and opening of studio facility in Pontiac, Michigan. Currently, Raleigh is assisting with studio projects under development in Park City, Utah, Toulouse, France and Wuxi, China.
